Extra-curricular activity

We aim to offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs to children across school. Read on to find out about some of the fantastic experiences that we offer. For any information about joining one of our clubs, please contact the school office.

We offer a range of private music tuition, mostly provided by the wildly talented Mr. Gilson (who played in the brass band that made up part of the London 2012 Opening Ceremony). Please contact the school office for more info.

Eco-Team

Our dedicated Eco-Team meet with Mrs Ruddy at lunchtime to discuss all the ways that they can help the school become more eco-friendly. They have implemented an Eco-Team award that is given to the greenest class each week in assembly.

Lunchtime LEGO Club

Run by the wonderful Mrs Banks, LEGO club offers children the chance to let their creative juices flow. Children are free to build whatever they want (just as LEGO intended) and can save their projects to add to over multiple weeks. This is a very popular club in school!

Gymnastics

Mrs Dury offers three separate, wildly popular and successful gymnastics clubs. Children can begin as early at Year 1, and continue progressing until they are representing the school at gymnastics competitions in Year 6. Mrs Dury has run this gym club for many years now and our gymnasts have made the school proud on many occasions, and many different events.

Year 5 / 6 Football Club

This football club is open to Years 5 and 6 and is the place to be if you want to represent the school at football. Lots of skills practise and matches going on here.

Year 3 / 4 Football Club

Qualified coach Dan Fowler and his team run this football club, where the children will learn all manner of skills and improve their techniques and they have a lot of fun playing the beautiful game.

Year 1 / 2 Football

Do you fancy yourself as the next Messi? Are you in Year 1 or 2? If the answer to both of these questions is yes then come along to a brilliant club for the little ones run by Dan and his team. A great introduction to football with a big focus on fun!

Wildlife / Gardening Club

Mr Beckwith and Mrs Ruddy have a great time looking after the various animals we have in school! Join this club to help keep these critters happy. Who knows, maybe you’ll get to name one of the new fish in the aquarium! The children also learn how to plant, grow and maintain all manner of different things in our fledgling vegetable patch and planters!

Netball Club

Join Mrs Dury for two separate netball sessions if you are in Year 5 or 6. This is another club that has produced some incredibly successful teams, and Mrs Dury can’t wait to get another one out on the court to bring more glory to Hutton Rudby!

Warhammer Club

Mr Beckwith’s passion! Once you reach Year 4 or above you can learn so much about art, design, tactics and even maths at Warhammer. Create crazy sci-fi figures and lead them into battle, led by one of the North East’s leading Warhammer experts. Once you get stuck in to this club you have a hobby for life!

Dodgeball Club

A playground favourite, dodgeball teaches children brilliant throwing and catching skills as well as, of course, the 5 Ds of dodgeball, dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge! Provided by Dan Fowler and his team, this club is really popular and available to Year 3 and above.

Skateboarding Club

A very popular club that Mr Beckwith loves running in the summer months. You are welcome to join this club whatever your ability / experience is on a skateboard – just don’t forget your kneepads!

Running Club
